Diesel Slips Further
National diesel prices continued their downward trend last week. Rocky Mountain and California were the exceptions.

National Observations
- The national diesel price dropped 2.1 cents last week. It marks the fifth week in a row of cheaper diesel, a reflection of suppressed crude oil pricing.
- Last week's average of $3.476/gallon was identical to the price on December 23, 2024. Since then it peaked at $3.715 on January 20 and has eased down since.

Regional Observations
- The biggest drops were on the East Coast and Gulf Coast. Both areas saw over 3-cent/gallon decreases. At $3.143, the Gulf Coast is now over 27 cents lower than the next lowest area, the Midwest.
- California and Rocky Mountain both saw increases. California rose 3.2 cents while Rocky Mointain inched up 0.3 cents.
